whats up julienet nation? been a bit - sorry about that lol, been busy with so much in my personal life as well as increasingly getting more obsessed with beastie boys. my college refunds came in recently - so naturally i bought everything beastie related i can get my hands on. so far i've bought like 8-9 things? something like that, i know it's not over 10 thats for sure. so far i have every single mainline album, aglio e olio, all compilations except some old bullshit (i do not care for their early stuff as much) and all home-video releases. i also have the book! the book is a great read so far, i haven't read it in order much but ive read like half the book so far in various chapters and i gotta say - great stuff. it's a very funny book and i absolutely LOVE reading about the history, one of my favorite stories was them headlining a show in LA before licensed to ill came out and the speaker system of the venue was so terrible that their set broke it, so one of the audience members went to the owner and told them their own system would be better, that audience being mario c, their producer, and the owner being matt dike - 1/3 of the dust brothers who went on to produce paul's boutique, which, is arguably considered their best album... i have a confession to make about that actually. paul's boutique is a phenomenal record, but it is absolutely not their best. personally for me, their best record is undoubtedly hello nasty, i mean come on?! intergalactic, putting shame in your game, just a test, super disco breakin', the grasshopper unit, i don't know, picture this, song for the man... THREE MCS AND ONE DJ?? THE COOLEST SONG EVER??? i could list the whole album right here and i honestly would've because every single song is just amazing in their own ways. there's no surprise i gravitate towards the rap songs but they're just so fire. how could you not love any of the songs i just mention? the video for three mcs and one dj is genuinely one of the coolest things ever to me - i can't explain why but it's just... cool. everytime i load up the criterion dvd of their music videos i always watch this one with all the cameras showing because its just one of those videos where you can't really miss whatever is happening.
please note that this isn't how it's presented on the dvd, its all equal but i can't find the youtube video that has it pulled straight from the dvd so this has to suffice for now. but yeah it's a phenomenal video and i cant get enough of it - scratching on turntables has got to be one of the coolest things ever and i want to partake in it so bad, i would KILL to be a dj of some sort considering how dope everything ive seen related to it is. ive been looking into getting a digital turntable set to practice on - i also really want a mpc2000 but they're sooo expensive too. imagine what type of power i can harness if i got both of them, i could be the modern day goat. im aware that jpegmafia and danny brown's scaring the hoes was produced on a sp404 and mannn that album sounds beautiful. the device looks weird though, i like the touchpads on the mpc a lot. i don't even want a modern day mpc either, i want the old one so bad. i might get one when the time comes. i have a lot of plans for julienet for the next couple of years and i hope i can start working on them this year, hopefully very soon. i wish i did more for the one year anniversary of julienet but i got too carried away with real life and haven't had enough time to work on anything related to julienet - which is why i made that along post and haven't typed anything for this blog in almost 2 weeks - ive been a busy birdy. hopefully i can start something tomorrow - but you guys won't be able to see it for a few months anyways ;). i love a lot of what ive done for julienet so far but i want to do something i absolutely proud of. im pretty proud of everything so far but i want something that i am the most proudest of. i want to be the coolest person ever pretty much. cool clothes, cool lifestyle, cool art, cool vocabulary, the whole nine yards of whatever cool is; i wanna be it. all of these goals are pretty achievable too so im pretty happy about that; its my top priority for 2025 and like, my whole life lol. so far im about 10% there, there is so so much i need to work on but there's no harm in getting there. i think im gonna start a beastie boys collection section on the julienet site. i should work on that tomorrow actually, that's the next julienet project. omg actually this is a great idea, i need to do that. ive been thinking about it for a while now so i guess its time to go ahead and make it. im pretty hyped about it though. not sure what to write about currently anymore so ill end it here, that and the blogspot editor is getting slow. i hope everyone has a great night / day. shout out to everyone too.
i get 11 points off the word quagmire
